Mexico's Cofece scrutinizes corn, corn flour markets

( November 23, 2022, 21:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Mexican competition authority has opened an investigation into alleged competition barriers, including barriers to access to essential inputs, in the national markets for corn and corn flour, according to a statement. The Federal Economic Competition Commission, or Cofece, said it found potential risks to competition in the production, distribution and marketing of corn and corn flour. Cofece also said that these markets are important because corn and its derivatives, including corn flour, "are fundamental products in the diet of Mexicans."
