Australia's COS seeks injunction to block Staples, OfficeMax merger

COS is Australia's largest independent office supplies dealer. Its founder, Dominique Lyone, said the recently exposed scandal involving Fuji Xerox New Zealand was also a concern, as was Fuji's inclusion in New Zealand's All-of-Government 2015 office supplies panel. Lyone said COS will inform US private equity firm Platinum Equity, which owns Staples and is moving to acquire OfficeMax, that it will attempt to block the process. COS is currently third in market share in Australia, but the merged entity would be nine times its size, he said.    ...
