Turkey suppliers must face US price-fixing claims, US judge rules

( November 21, 2022, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Turkey purchasers bringing US antitrust claims against Tyson, Cargill, Butterball, other turkey suppliers and data compiler Agri Stats plausibly alleged a claim for exchange of competitive information, a federal judge ruled. “In particular, plaintiffs pled that on numerous occasions defendants not only communicated about their intended price cuts but also encouraged one another to make cuts to supply in the turkey industry,” US District Judge Virginia M. Kendall said. “When the allegations are considered as a whole, plaintiffs’ claims give rise to an inference of a price-fixing conspiracy sufficient to state a claim and survive the motion to dismiss.”See document below. ...
