Merger-overhaul proposals could be simplified, top Australian antitrust official says

( August 22, 2024, 02:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Proposals to overhaul Australia’s merger laws should be simplified in order to strike a balance between the scrutiny of potentially anticompetitive deals and minimizing the regulatory burden for acquisitions that don’t have anticompetitive effects, the country’s top antitrust official said.
