​Connect Bidco-Inmarsat commitments accepted by UK government

( July 18, 2019, 14:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Connect Bidco's commitments on future UK operations, concerning its planned acquisition of Inmarsat, have been accepted by the government's Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. The DCMS has still to decide whether the deal raises public-interest concerns. The Competition and Markets Authority, which is also probing the deal, will decide by Sept. 10 whether to open an in-depth inquiry into the transaction. In March, Inmarsat, a satellite communications provider, said it would be taken private by a consortium of international investors, including private-equity firm Apax Partners and US-based peer Warburg Pincus, in a deal worth more than $3 billion.Statement follows.
