EU plans to extend duties on Russian birch plywood to imports from Kazakhstan, Turkey welcomed by Woodstock Consortium

( March 1, 2024, 15:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Woodstock Consortium, which represents a group of EU birch plywood producers, welcomed today the expected extension of the EU dumping duties of up to 15.8 percent on Russian birch plywood to imports from Kazakhstan and Turkey. “Following extensive on-site inspections in Kazakhstan and Türkiye, the European Commission itself unearthed undeniable proof of circumvention, now necessitating the extension of anti-dumping duties to all imports from these countries to rectify market imbalances,” the lobby group said. The plans for duty extensions disclosed by the European Commission today need to be endorsed by EU governments before they enter into force. The investigation is still ongoing, but the commission rarely makes major changes after the final disclosure.Statement is attached. ...
