In expanding smartphone war, Samsung, Apple and Nokia joust over patent secrets

By Mike Swift ( October 23, 2013, 00:52 GMT | Insight) -- Samsung told a federal judge on Tuesday that despite its disclosure of other companies' confidential information, its internal investigation found no evidence that protected patent license terms between Apple, Nokia and other smartphone companies had been misused in litigation or negotiations. Apple and Nokia countered that evidence suggests the breach was much larger, and asked US Magistrate Judge Paul Grewal to mandate that investigation continue. Samsung told a federal judge on Tuesday that despite its disclosure of other companies' confidential information, its own internal investigation found no evidence that patent license terms between Apple, Nokia and other smartphone companies had been misused in litigation or negotiations, and asked a federal judge to block a request by Apple and Nokia to continue a court-directed investigation....
