Chinese auto association asks Toyota to pay subsidy to dealers

( December 29, 2014, 06:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The China Automobile Dealers Association on Dec. 26 sent a letter to FAW Toyota Motor Sales, Toyota's joint venture in China, asking the company to pay subsidies worth approximately 2.2 billion yuan ($354 million) to assist Chinese dealers with the problems they face. The association said in the letter that a large number of dealers are suffering severe losses because of Toyota's business policies and requirement that dealers maintain high inventories. Apart from the subsidies, the association offered advice, such as setting sales targets no higher than the actual sales volume of 2014 and removing cross-region penalties.The letter is attached....
