Qube, Brookfield sign binding agreement to jointly acquire Asciano, subject to approvals

( March 15, 2016, 01:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- Mlex Summary: The Qube-led consortium comprised of Global Infrastructure Management, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and CIC Capital Corporation, and the Brookfield Infrastructure-led consortium comprised of GIC Private Limited, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation and Qatar Investment Authority, have entered into a binding agreement to acquire Australian port and rail company Asciano for an all cash consideration of A$9.15 per share. Qube, together with Brookfield and its co-investors, will acquire the Patrick Container Terminals Business for A$2.915 billion in a 50/50 joint venture. The transaction requires approvals from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the Foreign Investment Review Board, ASX, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, the EU Merger Regulation and New Zealand’s Overseas Investment Office.The company's statement is attached....
