Judge closes FCPA case against Teva Russia unit, imposes no new fine on top of prior $283 million fine

( July 13, 2017, 16:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US District Judge Kathleen Williams closed the criminal bribery case against Teva LLC, the Russian subsidiary of Teva Pharmaceuticals, after Teva LLC pleaded guilty last month. The judgement imposes no fine on top of the $283 million fine the Teva parent company agreed to pay in December when it settled a number of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act charges with a deferred prosecution agreement. Part of that DPA called for the Russian subsidiary to plead guilty to one count of a FCPA violation. The judgement allows the $283 million, which has been sitting in a US escrow account, to be released to the US Treasury.See document below....
