Comment: Phones4U collusion suit against UK mobile networks may struggle to win last-chance appeal bid

By Simon Zekaria ( March 12, 2024, 12:32 GMT | Comment) -- Several telecom giants may have little cause to be nervous as they await a ruling on a second bid by administrators for defunct UK retailer Phones4U to keep an antitrust damages suit against them alive. Phones4U’s allegations of collusion against the companies behind the EE, O2 and Vodafone mobile networks were dismissed by the UK’s High Court, which also refused an appeal bid. Phones4U has now asked the Court of Appeal directly, but it may have a struggle given the High Court’s criticisms of its arguments.The administrators for defunct UK retailer Phones4U may be more nervous than the telecom giants they are targeting with an antitrust damages suit as they wait to hear news on their last-gasp bid to keep it alive....
