South Korea's top court backs SK in unfair support appeal against KFTC
( March 10, 2016, 03:06 GMT | Insight) -- South Korea's Supreme Court has ruled that corrective orders and combined fines of 34.7 billion won ($28.7 million) that the Korea Fair Trade Commission imposed on seven affiliates of SK Group for allegedly providing work unfairly to affiliate SK C&C were not reasonable, Money Today reports.South Korea's Supreme Court has ruled that corrective orders and combined fines of 34.7 billion won ($28.7 million) that the Korea Fair Trade Commission imposed on seven affiliates of SK Group for allegedly providing work unfairly to affiliate SK C&C were not reasonable, Money Today reports. The accused firms, including SK Telecom and SK Innovation, were handed penalties by the KFTC in Sept. 2012 for signing an IT outsourcing contract with SK C&C for a higher price than the typical market price. The court said there was no clear evidence that the companies had paid excessive prices for labor and maintenance. It also found that SK C&C had provided high-quality IT maintenance services to the companies, making the prices reasonable....
