ICE must end commercial agreement and sell Trayport, UK CMA finds in final decision

( July 7, 2017, 14:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Intercontinental Exchange, also known as ICE, must sell its energy-trading platform Trayport and end the commercial agreement entered into by the companies, reversing the 2014 merger, the UK Competition and Markets Authority has said in its final decision, which concludes its investigation. The companies had challenged the watchdog's findings that the merger would result in a loss of competition, but the Competition Appeal Tribunal upheld the CMA's decision. The court also asked the watchdog to reconsider its finding that the two companies should terminate a commercial agreement entered into during the probe.
