TPP provisions to make it more difficult for government leaders to prevent financial crisis, Senators warn Froman

( December 17, 2014, 23:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Democrat Senators Elizabeth Warren, Tammy Baldwin and Edward J. Markey told US Trade Representative Michael Froman they are concerned the Trans-Pacific Partnership would make it more difficult for government leaders and agencies to prevent a financial crisis. The senators pointed to investor-state dispute settlement provisions in past trade agreements to show that these provisions permit challenges to government financial policy decisions and would deter government leaders from establishing and enforcing rules that impact banks.Statement follows in full below....
