Saint-Gobain, Sicbras silicon-carbide deal heads to CADE Tribunal (correct*)

( March 7, 2016, 12:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Brazilian antitrust officials have recommended that the regulator's Tribunal not approve French building-materials company Saint-Gobain's acquisition of a 50 percent stake in Sicbras’ silicon-carbide plant in Paraguay as is. CADE said that the companies’ combined market share for metallurgical-grade silicon carbide, in terms of revenue in 2014, was 80 to 90 percent in both Paraguay and Brazil. For black silicon carbide the figure was 40 to 50 percent. The recommendation was published today in the country’s Official Journal....
