Expired EU duties on Pakistani plastic resin were illegal, WTO rules

By Jennifer Freedman ( July 6, 2017, 16:10 GMT | Insight) -- European duties on certain plastic resins from Pakistan were illegal because EU trade investigators wrongly concluded that aid granted under two national programs was linked to export performance, the World Trade Organization has ruled. Today's findings won't affect the tariffs, which expired almost two years ago. But the judgment is relevant for other Pakistani exports that benefit from one of the programs and could attract EU antisubsidy levies....
