DL Software wins unconditional approval in France to take over Bimédia

( April 25, 2022, 12:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: DL Software group has received approval from France's antitrust agency for its plans to buy Bimédia, the watchdog said today, finding that the deal wouldn't hurt competition. The authority concluded that the deal — despite leading to a situation of quasi-duopoly — wouldn't give the combined business any incentives to raise prices for global checkout solutions for local shops such as press or tobacco retailers, citing strong competitive pressure by its main rival Logista, the office said. The nature of the markets in question also wouldn't give room to coordinating behavior with Logista, the current number one on the market, the authority said. DL Software is owned by international private equity firm TA Associates.Statement follows (in French). ...
