Indonesia's Hardaya Inti Plantations faces charges for allegedly dominating partnership with oil palm farmers

The Indonesian Competition Commission, or KPPU, has already issued three written warnings to the company, ordering improvements to its unfair business practices, which have allegedly left the farmers’ cooperative with debts amounting to 657 million rupiah ($42,000) as of August 2022. Having failed to implement the changes, the company appeared before the commission yesterday to face charges, with potential penalties of up to 10 billion rupiah or a revocation of its business license if found guilty.
