Ultragaz-Liquigás deal faces in-depth review in Brazil

( June 30, 2017, 21:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Ultrapar's plan to buy Liquigás will face an in-depth analysis in Brazil, according to a statement disclosed today in the case file. Antitrust officials declared the deal "complex" and said they will further investigate its impact on the markets for bottled and bulk liquefied petroleum gas. They also said the investigation held so far suggests the existence of a specific segment derived from the market -- the use of LPG as a propellant for the aerosols industry. The agency asked the companies to demonstrate how the deal will make consumers better off.
