Microsoft's Activision layoffs underscore need for injunctive relief, US FTC tells appeals court
( February 7, 2024, 16:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Microsoft's layoffs of 1,900 employees following its acquisition of Activision "is inconsistent with Microsoft’s suggestion" to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals "that the two companies will operate independently post-merger," the US Federal Trade Commission said in a letter to the court's clerk. Microsoft had argued that such independence would facilitate divestiture if necessary, the FTC said.
