KPPU urges Jakarta to review floor-price policies

( February 25, 2016, 03:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- Indonesia’s Business Competition Supervisory Commission, or KPPU, has reiterated its position against government policies to set price floors in certain industries, saying they may promote collusion and unhealthy competition. In one discussion with several government agency and ministry officials, KPPU commissioner Muhammad Nawir Messi acknowledged that the government wanted to protect small businesses through floor prices, but he said larger businesses would generate proportionally more profit as they were already efficient.
