IEEE patent policy changes advance

By Leah Nylen ( December 8, 2014, 18:33 GMT | Insight) -- The board of a key association that develops Internet and Wi-Fi standards voted Saturday to adopt amendments to the group’s intellectual property rights policy, advancing the proposal another step in spite of opposition to the changes. The changes are conditioned on approval from the US Department of Justice’s antitrust division, which is reviewing the amendments to determine whether they violate antitrust laws.
