Tough new EU anti-corruption laws endorsed by lawmakers

( January 31, 2024, 13:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Stricter EU-wide measures and penalties for corruption were voted through by lawmakers today, as part of a push toward stronger rules to deal with corrupt decision-makers in the bloc. The Committee on Civil Liberties endorsed the draft negotiating mandate, which will see top EU decision-makers subject to anti-corruption laws. The mandate will be negotiated next month and then go to the EU Parliament.Statement follows....
