Google to remove Turkish Shopping ads to comply with antitrust decision

By Michael Acton ( July 29, 2020, 10:25 GMT | Insight) -- Google will remove its Shopping ads from its search engine in Turkey from Aug. 10 to comply with an antitrust order from the country’s competition authority earlier this year, the US tech giant said today. The Turkish decision, similar in content to the European Commission’s 2017 Shopping probe, ordered the company to treat comparison-shopping services equally. But Google says it's uncertain that the Turkish regulator will accept similar remedies to those introduced in the EU. Google will remove its Shopping ads from its search engine in Turkey from Aug. 10 to comply with an antitrust order from the country’s competition authority earlier this year, the US technology giant said today....
