Plaintiffs say CDA does not shield Facebook from terror attack liability

( June 15, 2017, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The plaintiffs, including the father of the victim killed in a terror attack in Jaffa last March, have asked a US district judge in New York to alter a judgement granting Facebook's motion to dismiss a class action lawsuit that seeks to hold the social media giant liable for giving a platform to terrorist groups. "Because Facebook's tortious conduct that constitutes publishing or speaking took place outside of the United States," plaintiffs argue, Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act does not apply.
