Sanofi to buy Inhibrx in $1.7 billion acquisition of trial therapy for rare disease AATD

( January 23, 2024, 14:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Sanofi has agreed to buy Inhibrx in a deal representing roughly $1.7 billion in value after the target spins off assets and liabilities not related to INBRX-101, the firm's "optimized, recombinant alpha-1 antitrypsin ('AAT') augmentation therapy currently in a registrational trial for the treatment of patients with alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency." Sanofi will pay $30 per share, plus "a contingent value right (CVR) of $5.0 and 0.25 shares of a new publicly traded company that will retain Inhibrx’s non-INBRX-101 assets," according to a press release announcing the deal.
