Platforms seek more time to comply with EU content-moderation database, CCIA says

( January 22, 2024, 10:57 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Computer & Communications Industry Association has asked the European Commission for a "grace period of several months" after a Feb. 17 deadline to comply with a "transparency" database requirement in the EU's Digital Services Act. Under the DSA, platforms must state reasons for removing information or other content-moderation decisions, and must submit statements to the commission’s database. The CCIA said in a public letter that its members don't have access to the database so can't prepare their systems to comply with the rules.Letter is below:...
