​Three Japfa subsidiaries under investigation by Indonesia’s KPPU

( February 10, 2016, 03:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Singapore-listed industrial agri-food company Japfa has disclosed that three of its Indonesian subsidiaries are currently under investigation over alleged price fixing and cartel activity in the beef and poultry industries in the country. Subsidiaries Santosa Agrindo and Austasia Stockfeed, together with 30 other beef feedlot companies forming part of the Beef & Feedloter Association in Indonesia, or APFINDO, are due to appear before Indonesia’s Business Competition Supervisory Commission, or KPPU, to answer allegations of cartel activity in the local beef industry. Meanwhile, Japfa Comfeed Indonesia is one of 16 other poultry companies directed by the director-general of animal husbandry to cull six million poultry parent stocks in 2015, which the KPPU is also looking into. The company's full statement is attached. ...
