​Indonesia's KPPU finds 17 companies guilty of rigging power tenders in North Sumatra

( February 9, 2016, 05:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia’s Business Competition Supervisory Commission, or KPPU, has fined 17 companies for colluding to rig the outcome of rural power construction tenders in North Sumatra in 2013. The companies were given fines ranging from 48.7 million rupiah ($3,500) to 5.7 billion rupiah ($416,500) each. In addition, the judges also banned the companies from participating in any form of tender conducted by state-owned electricity company PT PLN for two years....
