( January 18, 2024, 01:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japan and UK digital officials held their second Ministerial Japan-UK Digital Council online on Jan. 16, issuing a progress report on the state of their bilateral digital partnership. Officials from Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Digital Agency and the UK’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology noted their collaboration in artificial intelligence governance, telecom vendor and infrastructure diversification, semiconductor development, cybersecurity and secure data transfers including AI-specific data flows. The officials also said they will continue discussing their respective digital regulations and work towards effective digital-competition policies.The statement is attached....
