Mexican antitrust watchdog fines seven shipping companies in auto transport cartel case

( June 9, 2017, 21:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Mexican antitrust agency has imposed a $32 million fine on seven shipping companies. The Federal Commission for Economic Competition, or Cofece, said that the firms took part in an international cartel  in the automobile transport market  from 2009 to 2015. The seven companies fined for their practices are Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV), Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K-Line), K Line America, Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), Mitsui OSK Bulk Shipping, Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK), and Wallenius Wilhlmsen Logistics (WWL). The companies can challenge Cofece decision through the Mexican judicial system.See full statement in Spanish below....
