Medical Informatics faces class-action complaint from 19 states
( March 22, 2016, 06:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plaintiffs from 19 states have sued Medical Informatics Engineering, in the wake of a data breach in 2015 that allowed hackers to escape with personal data of 3.9 million people. The plaintiffs accurse MIE of "failing to take adequate and reasonable measures to ensure their computer systems were protected, failing to take vailable steps to prevent and stop the breach, failing to disclose the material facts that they did not have adequate computer systems and security practices to safeguard Personal and Medical Information," as well as other allegations.See attached complaint....
