Google settlement with consumers in US Play Store antitrust case gets final approval

( January 11, 2024, 23:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google's settlement with a class of developers to pay $90 million to resolve allegations of anticompetitive app-store restrictions and excessive commissions to buy apps and in-app content on Android devices has been granted final approval by a US federal judge. Google also agreed to make changes to the Play Store to improve app discoverability; enable automatic updates for three years for apps downloaded from other Android app stores; revise distribution agreements with developers; and publish an annual "transparency report" for at least the next three years, according to an order by US District Judge James Donato.See document below....
