General Court Statement: Judges uphold EC's decision classifying the transfer of natural heritage land to environmental organisations as state aid

( September 12, 2013, 07:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The General Court today confirmed an assessment by the European Commission according to which state aid in the form of a free tranfer of natural heritage land to environmental protection entities for large conservation projects is public funding compatible with the common market. The court deemed that the regulator was right to find that such entities are involved in economic activities and must be regarded as undertakings and that the measures conferred them an advantage vis-à-vis operators run for profit.Full press release follows.
