Indonesian cattle breeders lose final appeal against 2016 cartel ruling

( July 16, 2020, 01:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Twelve Indonesian beef importers have had their request for a judicial review of a 2016 cartel ruling by Indonesia's Business Competition Supervisory Commission, or KPPU, rejected by the country’s Supreme Court. This renders the KPPU decision, which found 32 cattle-importer and feedlot companies guilty of conspiring to control the supply and price of beef in Greater Jakarta and fined them a total of 107 billion rupiah ($7.4 million), final and binding.
