EU doesn’t plan to name additional adult sites as VLOPs under DSA, Breton says

( January 11, 2024, 11:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission doesn't plan to designate any additional adult-content websites as online platforms that are subject to extra risk-reduction obligations and enforcement under the EU's content-moderation rules, European Industry Commissioner Thierry Breton said today. In December, the commission designated three sites as Very Large Online Platforms under the Digital Services Act. But Breton said, in response to a question from a European Parliament member, that no other pornographic platforms appear to meet the threshold to be designated under the DSA, based on the available information.Full statement below:...
