Korea Fruit Tree Seedling Association fined in price-fixing case

( February 3, 2016, 03:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Korea Fair Trade Commission has decided to impose corrective orders and fines of 18 million won ($14,808) on the Korea Fruit Tree Seedling Association for allegedly fixing the prices of fruit tree seedlings. The association is accused of fixing the prices of fruit tree seedlings every June from 2006 to 2013 during boards of directors meetings. The association apparently distributed price lists for each product to its members. It also apparently posted the list on its website. The competition agency decided such activity was a violation of Article 26, Section 1 of the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act as it limited price competition among business operators. The regulator's statement, in Korean, is attached....
