Dutch IMCD receives India clearance to acquire balance of Signet

( January 10, 2024, 00:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: IMCD, the Netherlands-headquartered global distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients, has received India approval to acquire the remaining 30 percent equity stake in Mumbai-based Signet Excipients. The proposed acquisition relates to the Dutch entity's India arm exercising a call option announced back in September 2020, when it first acquired a 70 percent shareholding in the Indian specialty chemicals distributor, the Competition Commission of India said late Tuesday. Signet does not have any presence outside of India, except for minimal sales by way of exports in the Indian subcontinent and Africa, according to a CCI statement.
