( July 10, 2006, 12:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- On 10 July 2006, the General Meeting of Shareholders of Cogas, an electricity and gas distribution and supply company in the east of the Netherlands, accepted Electrabel's takeover bid. The agreement concerns Cogas Energie's electricity and gas supply activities. Electrabel as from 1 October 2006 will supply the company’s 180,000 customers.This operation, as well as the take over of Rendo last week, tallies with Electrabel's growth strategy and marks the company's arrival on the residential market in the Netherlands....
