Company Statement: Ecolab amends Champion acquisition agreement

( December 3, 2012, 23:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Chemical company and disinfectant maker Ecolab has amended the merger agreement for its planned purchase of Champion Technologies, a manufacturer of chemicals for use in oil and natural gas wells. The amendment provides for Champion's downstream process and water solutions business to be spun-off prior to the acquisition by Ecolab. As a result, the value of the transaction will be reduced from $2.2 billion to $2.16 billion. Ecolab continues to expect the transaction to close by year-end 2012.Statement follows in full....
