New rules for taxi, bus services at Felipe Ángeles International Airport will increase competition, Mexico's Cofece says

( March 15, 2022, 14:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Mexican competition authority said that the new rules proposed by the Felipe Ángeles International Airport for the provision of passenger transport services in the form of taxis and buses would favor a greater offer of providers of such services and would generate incentives for them to offer better price and quality conditions, different from other airports in Mexico, according to a statement. The Federal Economic Competition Commission, or Cofece, also said the system proposed by the airport would allow the entry of any interested party who meets the applicable requirements in terms of safety and quality, without having to belong to a group of taxi drivers. Additionally, Cofece said the new rules don't impose discriminatory treatment or unjustified requirements that grant an exclusive advantage in favor of certain economic agents, or that represent artificial barriers to entry.Cofece press release follows below in Spanish and English:...
