Online-platform technologies used by Shanghai market regulator to improve case-handling efficiency

( January 3, 2024, 08:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Online-platform operators including Meituan, Xiaohongshu and Pinduoduo have signed a memorandum with the Shanghai municipal Administration for Market Regulation, under which the regulator will improve efficiency in supervising the Internet market and handling cases by using Big Data and cloud computing technologies from online platforms. According to the memorandum, the regulator will enhance its administrative guidance for online platforms by communicating to them so-called typical cases involving companies’ irregularities on a regular basis. Additionally, online platforms will provide the Shanghai market regulator with data involving their operations and consumer complaints in accordance with the law and share basic information on in-platform merchants with the regulator.The statement is attached....
