Alibaba ordered to pay JD.com $141 million by Chinese court for dominance abuse

( December 29, 2023, 09:57 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Chinese e-commerce operator JD.com today said local rival Alibaba has been ordered by a Beijing court to pay the company 1 billion yuan ($141 million) in compensation for abusing a dominant position. The Beijing High People's Court made the first-instance ruling today, in which it determined that Alibaba had engaged in forced exclusivity in breach of the country's antitrust law, JD.com said in a statement posted on its official WeChat account.
