EFF files supplemental brief supporting high court review of DMCA take-down notice case

( May 19, 2017, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Electronic Frontier Foundation filed a supplemental brief with the US Supreme Court on behalf of Stephanie Lenz in support of her petition for certiorari in regards to a US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit decision finding that copyright owners must consider fair use before sending takedown notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. "The DMCA embodies a grand bargain that was designed to protect the rights of copyright owners, service providers and users, spurring new expression and creativity.
