FTC nominee Ferguson should answer more questions about Big Tech, US Senator Hawley says

( December 22, 2023, 02:22 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US Senator Josh Hawley wrote to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell saying a US Federal Trade Commission nominee in a year-end package needs more time for evaluation of his views on Big Tech. Andrew Ferguson, who has been nominated to be a Republican FTC commissioner, "should answer additional questions on his philosophy concerning Big Tech, given the importance of that issue to our Conference," Hawley wrote. "If Republicans are planning to install dozens of Biden nominees for positions across the federal government — without a vote — in exchange for just a handful of our own selections, I want to be sure that we get our nominees right," the letter said.
