HIV status of 14,200 people in Singapore leaked online

( January 29, 2019, 03:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Singapore's Ministry of Health announced that confidential information regarding 14,200 individuals diagnosed with HIV up to January 2013, and 2,400 of their contacts, has been illegally disclosed online by a US citizen and former Singapore resident, Mikhy K Farrera Brochez, who was jailed for numerous fraud and drug-related offenses. The ministry said it has been notifying affected individuals and disabled access to the information, although Farrera Brochez is still in possession of the information, which he obtained back in 2012-2013 through his partner, a Singaporean doctor who was the head of the ministry's National Public Health Unit at the time.
