EC Document: Telecoms - Portuguese call termination - Launch of phase-II procedure

( August 23, 2013, 08:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission has opened a phase II procedure in relation to draft measures by the Portuguese telecoms regulator Anacom in the wholesale market for fixed call termination. The regulator's termination rates do not comply with a commission recommendation. Anacom should introduce provisional cost-oriented termination rates based on benchmarking without delay, until the BU-LRIC cost model is ready for implementation, the commission said. Moreover, the draft measure does not appear to be compatible with EU law.  The comments follow in full....
