Meta seeks injunction pending appeal against US FTC proceedings to reopen privacy settlement

( December 12, 2023, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta Platforms asked a US district judge for an injunction pending an appeal of the court’s denial of a motion to stop the Federal Trade Commission from reopening its 2020 privacy settlement with the company. “Meta bargained for the right to have any modifications to the Stipulated Order litigated in this court under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure — not for the FTC to transform from litigation adversary to adjudicating body. This harm cannot be remedied by after-the-fact review by the Court of Appeals, and courts routinely find irreparable harm in far less compelling circumstances,” it said. See document below. ...
