Vodafone agrees remedy package with Digi for Portuguese approval of Nowo deal
( December 12, 2023, 11:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Vodafone has agreed to give Digi spectrum usage rights in Portugal and wholesale access to its fiber network as part of a remedy package designed to win the national competition watchdog’s approval for its acquisition of Nowo. The authority opened an in-depth probe into the deal in April, saying it was concerned Vodafone was acquiring an operator with low prices and significant fixed and mobile assets. It also said Nowo was expected to become more competitive in the future as it had acquired the 5G spectrum in 2021, and Vodafone acquiring the spectrum reserved for new entrants would make it harder to compete.Statement follows....
