New Zealand police may have used controversial facial recognition tools, documents show

By Ryan Cropp ( December 8, 2023, 07:32 GMT | Insight) -- Staff at New Zealand’s national law-enforcement agency accessed controversial online facial-recognition tools PimEyes.com and Facecheck.ID on multiple occasions in the first six months of 2023, documents obtained by MLex have revealed. Police devices or networks made 393 connections with PimEyes.com and 274 connections with Facecheck.ID between Jan. 1, 2023 and July 18, 2023, the documents show.
